Shipping policy
These terms are in addition to our general Terms of Service. As stated there, we reserve the right to modify and amend this and any policy at any time by posting a new version to this web site. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically. Updated 4/4/2025.
📦 General Shipping Policy
🕒 Order Processing
- Tues–Thurs orders: Processed within 2 business days, usually ship within 2 days.
- Fri–Sun orders: Processed the following Tuesday, usually ship by Wednesday.
- Note: Shipping may be delayed due to out-of-stock items or high demand.

- Food shipments: UPS (you choose service at checkout).
- Alcohol: See Alcohol Shipping policy below for details.
Shipping Discounts
- Discounted shipping offers apply to continental U.S. only (lower 48 states).
- Questions? Contact us.
Packaging & Extra Charges
- We may need to repackage your order, which can increase shipping costs.
- If that happens, we’ll contact you for approval before shipping.
- If you decline, we’ll gladly cancel and fully refund your order.
Split Shipments
- If a few items are out of stock, we may ship what’s available now and the rest later.
- We cover the cost of any follow-up shipment.
🚫 Shipping Limits
- We only ship to physical addresses matching your billing address.
- No PO Boxes.
- Orders over $1,000 may be held for fraud checks — we may contact you to verify your identity.
- We reserve the right to refuse shipping to certain addresses.
❄️ Perishables Shipping
- All orders containing perishable items are shipped with refrigeration.
- Orders with perishables placed Tuesday–Thursday are usually shipped within 2 business days.
- Orders placed Friday–Sunday are held until the following Tuesday and shipped by Wednesday at the latest.
- We ship refrigerated and non-refrigerated items together when possible.
- Large orders may occasionally be split into separate refrigerated and non-refrigerated shipments.
- To prevent spoilage, perishable orders placed over the weekend are held and not shipped until Tuesday.
- Perishable shipments to CA, OR, WA, NV, and AZ can safely use UPS Ground.
- All other states require UPS 3-Day Select or faster for refrigerated items.
- We may hold refrigerated shipments during extreme weather to protect product quality.
- Our system does not automatically split orders — any order containing perishables will default to at least UPS 3-Day for the entire shipment.
- To save on shipping, please place perishables and non-perishables in separate orders.
🍷 Alcoholic Beverage Shipping
Title & Shipping Terms
- Title for all alcoholic beverages sold by us and shipped outside California passes to you in California.
- Freight terms are FOB Origin — you are solely responsible for the shipment once it leaves our facility.
- By placing an order, you authorize us to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your products.
- We make no representation regarding the legal rights of anyone to ship or import alcohol into states outside California.
- You are solely responsible for following all laws and regulations related to alcohol shipments in your state.
- Because of FOB terms, we are not liable for loss or damage during shipping.
- We will make reasonable efforts to assist with delivery or request shipping credit in case of damage or loss, but disclaim all liability.

📦 + 🍷 Mixed Orders (Alcohol + Other Items)
- For orders shipping outside CA that include both alcohol and non-alcohol items, we will split them into separate shipments.
- Alcohol shipments are subject to our alcohol shipping terms; other items follow standard shipping terms.
- Split shipping may cost more than estimated at checkout. We may collect additional fees before shipping.
- If the updated shipping cost is unacceptable, we will cancel your order upon request.
🍺 Beer & Cider
- We do not ship Beer or Cider. These are available for in-store pickup only.
- If our system accepts a beer or cider product for shipping in error, we will remove it and issue a refund for that item.
❄️⛈️☀️ Shipping Conditions & Weather
- Shipping costs are based on your order's weight and destination.
- We monitor weather conditions and may delay shipments during extreme heat or cold to protect your wine.
- For special shipping needs or weather-related concerns, email us at customerservice@spanishtable.com.
Damaged Shipments
- We package our wines carefully, but if your order arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
- We will replace or refund damaged items. Photos of the damage are required for claims.
🎄Holiday Shipping
- UPS and other shippers suspend their service guarantees during the holidays.
- We cannot guarantee shipping times during this period.
- Please refer to the UPS Holiday Shipping Guide for final shipping dates to ensure arrival before Christmas.
🛒 In-Store Pickup
- If you selected "In Store Pickup" at checkout, your order will be ready by the time indicated or chosen.
- You will receive an email notification when your order is ready.
- Pick up your order anytime after that during regular business hours — at the registers.
- We will attempt to notify you if an order appears forgotten or abandoned.
- Orders not picked up within 14 days may be restocked or discarded. These orders will not be refunded.
🚚 Same-Day Local Delivery
- If you selected same-day delivery, we will deliver your order to the address you provided on the scheduled date.
- Someone must be present at the address to receive the delivery. We do not leave deliveries unattended.
- If no one is available, the order will be returned to our store.
- For deliveries with alcohol, someone age 21+ must be present and provide valid government-issued ID.
- No part of a mixed order will be left behind; the entire order must be received by someone 21+.
- If a package is left in error, we are not responsible for theft or loss.
Lost or Stolen Packages
Packages Lost in Transit
- If a package is lost during transit and has not been marked "delivered," we will work with the carrier to locate it.
- Please allow up to 10 business days for the carrier to complete their investigation.
- If the package is not found, we will either issue a refund or send a replacement (based on availability).
Stolen Packages
- Once a package is marked "delivered," we are no longer responsible for theft or loss.
- Please check with neighbors or your building manager if you suspect theft.
- We recommend selecting signature-required delivery at checkout to reduce theft risk.
- We recommend taking out shipping insurance for orders >$500.
Shipping Insurance for High-Value Orders
- For orders over $500, optional shipping insurance is available for an added fee.
- This covers loss, damage, or theft during and after delivery.
- If you decline insurance, claims for packages valued at $500+ will not be eligible for replacement or refund after delivery.
↩️ Return Shipping
- Visit our Customer Service page and request a return before sending any items back.
- We do not accept or cover unauthorized returns. Products containing alcohol are not returnable and not eligible for any return shipping.
- Return shipping for defective items (except alcohol) is covered by us.
- Once authorized, use our provided return label and drop off the item at any UPS or USPS location.
- Return shipping for non-defective items is your responsibility.
