The Luis Canas Fermentado en Barrica Blanco stands heads and shoulders above the competition when it comes to white Rioja. This is complicated, complex, organically grown and is roughly 90% Viura and 10% Malvasia that is 60+ years old. The wood and the fruit are very well integrated, and the wine's acidity makes it refreshing and food friendly. Aromas of citrus, melon, and a spicy floral note, with flavors of stone fruit and mineral on the finish. A long finish that reminds one of lemon and spiced ginger. Absolutely delicious.
