The Do Ferreiro Albarino is sourced from a variety of vineyards Gerardo Mendez owns and farms throughout the Salnes valley. This valley's proximity to the ocean and protection by mountain ranges has gained it the reputation for being the best area in Rias Baixas for viticulture. The wine was fermented in 100% stainless steel and 100% destemmed. All natural yeasts are used. Complex aromas of salinity, exotic fruits with wet earth/herbal tones. The palate is textured with excellent acidity.
"The 2018 Albarino was very expressive after some time in the glass. This
is their house wine, produced with grapes from the 11 hectares and up
to 164 plots they work in the Salnes up to 22 kilometers from their
winery in Meano. The wine is very elegant in 2018; it's vibrant and
tasty, with the granite sapidity and the salty finish. I tasted a bottle
from the end of June 2019, when the wine had had longer time sur lie,
and the year in bottle does it good." 93 points The Wine Advocate
