- Bodegas Vinedos de Nieva was founded in 1989 and owns 60 hectares, 55 planted with Verdejo. The 2015 Blanco Nieva Pie Franco Verdejo was sourced from their pre-phylloxera vines that are over 150 years old. The Pie Franco is a pale-gold color in the glass. Great complexity on the nose, with notes of pear, yellow apple, Meyer lemons, and a hint of honeysuckle. Vibrant and mineral-driven on the palate. Delicious now, but will drink well for another 3-4 years.
