Finca Torremilanos is located in the heart of Ribera del Duero just south of the Duero River. Some of the vineyards and winemaking history date back to 1903, but Finca Torremilanos as we know it started in 1975 when Pablo Penalba purchased the winery and the 200 hectares of land that they
make wine from today.
Finca Torremilanos farms biodymically and is certified organic. Several different vineyard parcels go into this wine, but they
have one thing in common, they all have larger river stones in the vineyards. The stones retain the heat from the day as the sun sets and also protects the soil from drying out too quickly, as it is shielded from the direct sun. The 2014 is predominantly Tempranillo (95%) with a touch of Merlot (5%) blended in. It's aged for 13 months before bottling.
