El Llebre is a simple, straightforward, and wonderful wine. We are told it's made of "Tempranillo, mostly." a description that made us smile. The name for the local clone of Tempranillo is "Ull de Llebre" (eye of the hare), hence the bright-eyed one on the label. This wine lept from the glass with bright cherry fruit on the nose gives way to vanilla, candy, and maybe some white pepper on the palate, all wrapped in an easy, silky smoothness atypical for young wines. If this wine is a good representation of what this year of the rabbit will bring, we are in good shape.
