- This 100% Verdejo is produced from a selection of head trained vineyards in the Nieva area (Segovia) of the Castilla Y Leon region. It is incredible. Fermented in french oak, then aged sur-lie for 8 month with occasional battonage(the practice of stirring the lees at the bottom of the barrell to resuspend them into the wine). While many Rueda Verdejos are light, fluffy porch-sippers, Postigo's Blanco is a BIG white wine reminiscent of a grand cru Chablis. Soft tree fruit flavors pair perfectly with well-integrated oak aroma and the faint fresh-bread yeasty warmth of wine aged sur-lie. The mouthfeel is rich and round. This wine will go well with anything: friendship, celebration, seafood, and living. The winemaker is the famed Tomas Postigo formerly of Pago de Carrovejas.
