Quinta das Maias is actually owned by neighboring Quinta dos Roques and is farmed organically. Quinta dos Roques was one of the early estates in the Dao to focus on higher quality varietal wines. The Jaen is actually what the Spanish call Mencia and it's a delicious and pretty bottle of wine. It' got great aromatics and bright red floral fruit and a backbone of granite and a long finish. Very tasty.
