Laura Lorenzo is one of Galicia's most passionate and exciting wine
makers. Located in the small town of Manzaneda in the Bibei River valley
she farms a number of parcels in the neighboring hillsides. She works
all biodynamically and all the wines she makes undergo a natural fermentation.
The Portela do Vento Blanco comes from several different parcels and is a blend of Palomino, Godello, Dona Blanca and Colgadeira. It ferments and sits on the skins for 5 days in both chestnut barrels and amphora and then aged for another 11 months in the same before bottling. This is a "mountain white" showing bright orchard fruit, savory minerality and refreshing acidity.
