Dirk Niepoort is one of Portugal's top winemakers and he has branched out from his home ground in the Douro with great success. The new "Nat Cool" wines he makes are natural wines. As Niepoort says, they are "cool and funky" and represents an innovative concept initiated by Niepoort, in which various producers came together to create light, easy-to-drink wines.

The white is from Vinho Verde and is made in the traditional method. A little residual sugar remains in the bottle and the wine re-ferments in the bottle. Slightly cloudy in appearance, this is a white wine with plenty of personality; it is fresh, vibrant, with citrusy and vegetal notes. Uncomplicated and straight-forward, it offers high acidity and a light carbonic sparkle on the palate, ending on a saline, crystalline and refreshing finish. Very refreshing and it comes in a 1 liter bottle.
